Ozone Compliance - 2014
2008 8-hr. av. O3 National Ambient Air Quality Standard:
To attain this standard, the 3-year average of the fourth-highest daily maximum
8-hour average ozone concentrations measured at each monitor within an area over
each year must not exceed 75 ppb (parts per billion).

DRAFT
Most Current (1/29/2014) Timeline
Will there be a New Ozone Standard?
• July 2014: Review Process of 2008 Ozone Standard Ends
• January 2015: Proposed Rulemaking for Revised Ozone Standard
• September 2015: Final Rulemaking published
• September 2016: Nonattainment Designation Recommendations from
Governors due to EPA; based on local monitoring data
• May 2017: EPA Proposes Nonattainment Designations No Later Than This
Date (120 day letters)
• September 2017: EPA Nonattainment Designations Final
Implies that 2014-2016 will be the
years of record for ozone compliance
