Goals For 1

st

Grade

1 st grade standards – Letters/sounds/sight words/fluent readers – Legible printing/sentence writing/paragraph writing – Spell sight words and use them in daily writing – Count and write by 1, 2, 5, 10 to 100 – Math facts to 20 – Count money – Tell time to the ½ hour

Classroom Rules

• Listen when someone is talking.

• Stop when someone asks you to.

• Class meeting weekly to resolve any other problems.

Good Work Awards

• Earn them for working like 1 the end of the week. grab tubs.

st graders • Receive 5 for bringing back homework.

• Earn them for leading in team points at • Spend them on Fridays to choose from the • “Pay” teachers for misbehavior.

School Supplies

• Some classroom items are provided by the teachers • Each students should bring: – White board pen – Crayons – Glue stick (1 large size or 2 small sized) – Yellow highlighter – Red ballpoint pen – Large pink eraser – Two pocket folder for homework • Each student needs a backpack daily.

• Only School Related Items at school.

Homework

• 1 st grade homework is weekly.

• Goes home on Monday – return on Friday.

• If complete – 5 GWA and Friday Frolic.

• Weekly Spelling tests.

• Bookworm envelopes of decodables.

Class Library

• Book bags go home daily with a child chosen book.

• Receive a stamp for each returned book.

• 5 GWA for a filled card & a free book.
