Plan of Action for 2009-2010
• New TEKS for ELA/R and SLA
• Development of CSCOPE™ curriculum documents with
new ELA/R TEKS are currently in progress.
• Revised ELA/R Vertical Alignment Documents (VADs)
have been sent to independent reviewers.
• The documents have also gone through district-level
review to gain input from the field.

Curriculum Documents
• Additional details will be available regarding
implementation of the ELA/R TEKS for 2009-10 in late
April – May.
• Revised K-12 ELA/R VADs will be accessible by June 1st
2009.
• Revised ELA/R IFDs for first semester will uploaded to the
Developer between June 1 and June 12, 2009.
• DRAFT YAGs will be uploaded between June 1 and June
12, 2009. Draft will allow time for input from users.

Instructional Documents
• No new ELA/R CSCOPE™ lessons will be developed for
the 2009-2010 school year.
• Focus for 2009-10 will be on the new ELA/R curriculum
documents.
• ESC ELA specialists will provide training in the utilization of
the new TEKS and revised curriculum documents.
• Aligned CSCOPE™ ELA/R lessons will be available for
2010-11.

Availability
• Curriculum documents based on 2009-10 new
ELA/R TEKS will be accessible via the Developer
online management system.
• New ELA/R assessments will be available for
2009-10 that are aligned to the curriculum.
• Access to the 2008-09 ELA and SLA CSCOPE™
curriculum, lessons and assessments will still be
available.

Spanish Language Arts (SLA)
• Spanish Language Arts documents are
available for grades K-5.
• Posting of finalized documents will
follow soon after ELA/R documents
posting.

Content-Area Update
• All content-area CSCOPE™ documents are also
currently under review.
• 2009-10 CSCOPE™ VADs, YAGs, TEKS
Verification Matrices, and IFDs will be uploaded
between June 1 – June 12, 2009 for math, science,
social studies, and current ELA/R.
• Changes are being addressed as per state
requirements.

Content-Area Update
• Minimal changes to current curricular and
instructional documents.
• Specialists are currently working on new
science TEKS curriculum revisions for 20102011.

College Readiness Standards
• 2009-10 CSCOPE™ documents will be aligned to
the Texas College Readiness Standards.
• A College Readiness Standards analysis document
will be provided for math and science.
• TEA will provide College Readiness Standards
training for ESCs beginning in April 2009 with the
ELA/R TOTs.

College Readiness Standards
• English III and Algebra I will carry the weight
for post secondary readiness.
• Training in the College Readiness Standards
will be very important for teachers and
administrators.

Spanish Translations
• Spanish translations for all four content
areas K-5.
• Spanish translations will be available for
2009-2010.

Assessment Update
• First semester assessments should be available August
1st.
• Second semester assessments should be available
October 1st.
• Kindergarten and first grade unit assessments are
currently under review.
• The focus of the 2009-10 kindergarten and first grade
unit assessments will be on the performance indicators.

2009-10 Pricing Update
• Curriculum: No change in pricing for
2009-2010 (CORE Curriculum Package)
• Developer Online Management System:
No change in pricing for annual
subscription fee.

2009-10 Pricing Update
• Districts will be invoiced after September
2009.
• Schools who would like to pay for 2009
fees with 2008-09 funds will need to let the
ESC know so that an invoice can be sent
before June 2009.

District User License Agreement
• The 2009-10 District User License
Agreement (DULA) will need to be signed
and returned by June 1, 2009.
• A copy of the updated DULA will be sent to
superintendents and curriculum contacts via
the ESC 8 contract booklet.

Future CSCOPE™ Developments
• New high school courses for 2009-10: Government,
Economics, and Precalculus
• Curriculum (VADs, YAGs, and IFDs) and unit lessons will
be available for all three courses.
• Environmental Systems will have all curriculum
components (VADs, YAGs, and IFDs) available.
• Lessons for Environmental Systems will not be developed
until final adoption of the new science TEKS are complete.

• Enhancements to the Developer are currently
underway.
• No software upgrades required, current
operating system and browser requirements
remain the same.

May 15, 2009 Updates:
Development/Login activity counts will provide
administrators with the number of lesson plans and
units that teachers have created over a specified
time span.
Tab for NEW ELA components will be placed on
the YAG named NELA.

Unit Feedback:
• Date submitted column will be added to the home page.
• Text Box for writing the response will be bigger.
• Responders will be able to reopen ticket and reclassify
ticket type.
• All responses whether original or subsequent will be
emailed directly to the originating teacher.

Daily Lesson Planner
• The TEKS section will be added back into the lesson
planner.
• Teachers will be able to upload attachments directly to
the lessons.
• A calendar fly-out will be available so teachers can see
their plans via a calendar for the whole month.

Principal’s Section
• Principals will be able to sort teachers’ plans by:
Date, Grade, Subject and/or Course
• QC/Complete protocol will be incorporated and principals
will have the ability to write notes/comments on the
teachers plan.
• A link to original unit will be embedded on the plan if it was
created from a unit.

Enhancement coming fall 2009:
• Local District Directory for Resources – Districts
will have their own dedicated directory for
uploading local resources.
• Districts will have the ability to mask downloaded
CSCOPE units on local YAG.

• Multiple Unit Assessments will be able to be added
to any one unit.
• Training for new users and current users will be
scheduled if requested.
• Helpdesk position will be added to assist with
Developer support.

• At the start of the new year, all end-users will be
required to sign electronically, a DULA Agreement,
before logging in.
• At the start of the new year, all end users will be asked
to complete an online survey prior to logging in.
