Mission
JewishGen's Hungarian Special
Interest Group (H-SIG) is for
those with Jewish roots in the area
known as "greater Hungary" or
pre-Trianon Hungary and covers
all those areas that were part of
Hungary before World War I.
This includes all of present-day
Hungary and Slovakia and lands
that are now within Romania, the
Ukraine, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia,
and Serbia.

2007 -2008
Accomplishments
H-SIG is unique because all of our projects are
accomplished by volunteers (rather than paid transcribers).
During the past year our volunteers have:
• Added more than 100,000 new records to the AHD
• Updated the H-SIG website with new information
• Created and expanded Shtetlinks for Miskolc,
Kormend, Nagymegyer, Chabanivka and Vishni Bystra.
