Transcript DON’T BE AFRAID TO GO

Make your presentation visible!
Think about display size for your audience.
Always use high contrast type.
One inch for or displayed type size per ten
feet for your viewing audience is the absolute
minimum for type size.
Use high contrast type for viewability.
For example,
don’t use yellow or light green on a white
background.
If you have a dark background, lighten the
textbox background.
consider using white text or
Changing the background for the box
How about changing your point of view to
help people focus on something new?
Highlight what you want people to know.
Keep it simple.
Make his
world
better.
DON’T BE
AFRAID TO GO
And it’s not always just the
words that can go big.
About fonts:
Going crazy with fonts may be fun for you, but viewers
tire of it quickly.
Just because you can do it, doesn’t mean you should.
Use high contrast type that shows clearly between your
background and your text. If you have doubts, fill the
text box with a color and a transparency that works.
Here’s my idea.
This is a very advanced concept.
Most of the time your presentation should not
be a tool to throw lots of words at people.
Use it to support what you have to say. Not
just repeat the words.
Consider the 7 x7 rule for PowerPoint
presentations.
The Rule of 7X7
No more than 7 lines per slide and
7 words per line
I don’t necessarily agree with this always, but it’s a good place to start.
About shapes and backgrounds
Use shapes to move your viewer through your
presentation.
Use backgrounds that support your message.
