Background
 It’s a grass-roots, Spanish-English, national campaign by the
Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) to create mass
awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
(STEM) and higher education opportunities for Hispanics.
 SHPE Noche de Ciencias (Family Science Night) is a bilingual
program for Hispanic parents and pre-college youth targeting
Hispanic communities across the United Status.
 Goal to reach 100 communities and touch 10,000 Latino minds
annually.
 In the Silicon Valley, this will be our 7th Noche de Ciencias since
2008.
 Davis Intermediate School hosting 2nd Noche de Ciencias (2010,
2012)

have about preparing their son and/or daughter for
college

Taking pictures during the event
