Criteria for BEST Practice Demerit POINT Systems
Initial position
• DPS implemented by numerous legislations all over EU
• DPS to enhance road safety by reducing crashes
through sanctioning risky road user behaviour
• Lack of evaluation: The positive effects of various DPS
systems are difficult to estimate
