Earn an Associate of Arts Degree!= 18 + units in major

An Associate of Arts degree is often awarded for programs that are intended for transfer to a
four-year college or university, usually with a major in the social science or humanities, but may
be awarded as a terminal degree.
Earn an Associate of Science Degree! = 30 + units in major
•
The Associate of Science degree is similarly awarded to terminal students or to potential
transfer students to a four-year college or university, but the areas of concentration are usually
in mathematics, natural sciences, health sciences, or technology.

There are many pathways for you to discover at BC! Enrolling in a STDV course and
meeting with a Counselor or Advisor will help you learn detailed information that identifies
specific BC courses which fulfill lower-division degree requirements for specific university
majors.

 Know exactly what courses to take at BC, applied to your future university
 Meet all lower division major prep at CSU campuses that offer a similar
major

 Completing the AA-T/AS-T degree path increases overall transfer gpa

• Prior to (10) days before the last day of open registration, students may be dropped for
non-payment of enrollment and non-resident tuition fees ten (10) days after date they
registered for the particular course(s)
• 1 Day drop policy

After the first day of the term students will not be dropped for non-payment of enrollment
fees or non-residence tuition: however, these students will have holds placed on their
transcripts, grades, and released diploma until the fees are paid.

Grading System:
– A student who is not in “good academic standing” will have a hold placed on his/her record
until he/she meets with a counselor to make plans to improve his/her grades.

Remain in “Good Standing.” Attempting 12 or more units and earning a 2.0 or above.
A Student who has completed more than 51% of the courses attempted with 12 or more
units.
A student who is not in good academic standing will have a hold placed on his/her record until
he/she attends an online or in person Student Success Workshop offered by the (Office of
Financial Aid).
– The hold will prevent registration.
– During the Students Success Workshop, the student will to make plans to improve his/her
grades.
*Repeating courses you failed is the quickest way to get back
into good standing!
To be successful, you need to:
• Know where your classes are located
• First day drop policy
• Buy your books early at the BC Bookstore or go to the BC homepage, click
on Student Services, click on Bookstore
• Be on time for classes
• Be prepared (have pens/pencils, binders with paper to write on)
• Check your BC e-mail regularly through “Inside BC”
• Manage your time
– Purchase a Daily Planner (schedule planning/time management….)
