Mark Twain
(1835-1910)
Mark Twain is a pen name of Samuel Clemens.
He was born in Missouri in the United States.
He went to work at the age of 12.He worked as a
printer for the town newspaper.
In1876 he wrote “The Adventures of Tom
Sawyer”. His book was such a success that in
1884 he wrote “The Adventures of Huckleberry
Finn”.
There are many other books written by Mark
Twain. But these two novels brought him world
fame.

short-story writers of the last
century.
His real name was William Sydney
Porter.
He was born in North Carolina.
He tried several professions before
starting his career as a journalist.

“The Four Million”, “Roads of
Destiny”.
Jack London
(1876-1916)
