What’s New?
Changes for the 2011 FLKRS Administration
• FLKRS (FAIR-K and ECHOS) is now ONLY administered
online via the Progress Monitoring and Reporting Network
(PMRN) at https://k2.pmrn.fcrr.org.
• Non-public schools may administer both portions of the
FLKRS (FAIR-K and ECHOS™)
• All registered non-public schools will have access to the
PMRN and receive a FLKRS kit in the mail.

FLKRS/ECHOS™ Overview
What is the ECHOS™?
ECHOS™ is an ongoing,
embedded assessment or
an observational assessment
that is a natural part of the
ongoing activity in the
classroom.
33
FLKRS/ECHOS™ Overview
How is the ECHOS™ administered?
Teachers observe students to
determine what they know
and are able to do and record
their observations (on the
FLKRS Class Record Form).
34
FLKRS/ECHOS™ Overview
Administration Requirements
ECHOS™ should be completed by a teacher,
trained in its administration.
Kindergarten teachers may NOT administer
the ECHOS™ to students they taught in VPK.
35
FLKRS/ECHOS™ Overview
Administration Accommodations
For students with disabilities and
English Language Learners (ELLs),
a flexible setting that is quieter
than the regular classroom
should be considered.
36
FLKRS/ECHOS™ Overview
Frequency of Demonstration
The behaviors and skills prescribed in each benchmark
need to be observed only once for the
appropriate indicator to be entered.
37
FLKRS/ECHOS™ Overview
Planning for Observations
Remember the behaviors and
skills you want to observe.
Observe the behaviors in context.
Incidental observations
Planned observations
38
FLKRS/ECHOS™ Overview
Planning for Observations
With careful planning, it is easily possible to complete
FLKRS/ECHOS™ for a class of students within the first
30 school days, using various types of class activities.
Whole Class
Large Group
Small Group

as a financial institution.
• An automatic timeout will occur if there is no activity for 20
minutes.
• The site’s security settings can be confirmed by the appearance
of a padlock icon in the address bar (Internet Explorer), in the
