Curriculum Vita
My name is Ashley Bailey and I am a teacher at Winder-Barrow
Middle School in Winder, Georgia. I am pursuing a degree in
Instructional Technology with the aspiration of being a technology
specialist within my school system. Vita
Disposition Rubric
The disposition rubric has been a way for me to visually see the
personal growth I have had during this program. Completing the
disposition rubric at the midpoint and again at the end has shown me
that I have grown into a more professional person when talking with
and interacting with my colleagues. Disposition Rubric

Field Experiences
I have been able to use many tools that I have learned at the University of
West Georgia in my life as a middle school teacher. I have been contacted
by many people in the school building to help with technology needs in and
outside of the classroom. I have been able to make lessons and presentations
that captivate my audience of 12 year olds to adults. I have been able to
utilize the programs in ways I never thought possible. Field Experiences
NETS and Standards
This is the NETS and Standards documentation for this program of study. I
matched a project or assignment to each of the strands of the standards and
then assigned an indicator for each. I could justify most of the projects to fit
under each category, so it was difficult to identify the most relevant. I found
this to be something that outlined my gains in knowledge throughout this
program. NETS and Standards

SWOT Analysis
My SWOT Analysis was a paper that was written in the early stages of
my specialist program. This paper allowed me to self-analyze my
strengths, weaknesses and goals for myself as an instructional
technologist. I have looked back over this essay several times and find
it useful when reminding myself of why I am here. SWOT Analysis
Final Reflection Paper
In my final reflections of this Ed.S. program, I was allowed to reflect
upon my learning throughout this program. I was also able to reflect on
my original SWOT Analysis. I believe that within the past five semesters
I have grown as a learner and I cannot wait to see what opportunities
this program will allow for in the future. Final Reflections

Diffusion of Innovation
Interview of Stakeholders
Diffusion of SchoolMax
TL-VIII. Leadership and Vision
b. Apply strategies for and knowledge of issues
related to managing the change process in schools.
TL-VII. Procedures, Policies, Planning, and
Budgeting for Technology Environments.
b. Follow procedures and guidelines used in
planning and purchasing technology resources.
This is an assignment from Dr. Huett’s Diffusions of
Innovations course, where we interviewed
stakeholders in our school or community. I chose to
interview students from all different grade levels of
the school system and see what they felt was the
ideal classroom and how they viewed technology in
the classroom. Knowing what our students think
about technology and knowing where they need to
be in terms of technology is important when finding
and utilizing new innovations. This project helped
me see the needs in my school system.

Introduction
Vita
In Diffusions of Innovations, we investigated an
innovation that was implemented in the school. We
analyzed whether or not it was a successful
diffusion of the innovation into the school. I chose
to follow the diffusion frameworks outlined in Dr.
Huett’s course and discussed the failure of
diffusion when it came to SchoolMax. In the course,
we prepared ourselves to follow the diffusion
guidelines when purchasing technology or
resources at our school.

Retrospective Paper
TL-VIII. Leadership and Vision
c. Apply effective group process skills.
TL-I. Technology Operations and Concepts
Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and understanding
of concepts related to technology (as described in
the ISTE NETS for Teachers 2000).
Throughout my courses, each professor has had
some level of group work to be accomplished. In
Dr. Baylen’s classes, it was a must. This is a Project
Based Learning project where a group of students
worked together to create a proposal for a crosscurricular unit. It took a lot of planning and a lot of
collaboration, but the end product was excellent.

This reflective practice was part of my first
semester at UWG and it was a lot of work. I say
this only to indicate the significance of hard work. I
completed it and believe it was the most
rewarding reflective practice that I have ever
done. Everything that I discussed incorporates
things about technologies that I did not know as
well as things I did know. I appreciate the hard
work that this practice was reflective of.

TL-III. Teaching, Learning, and the Curriculum
c. Apply technology to demonstrate students'
higher-order skills and creativity.
TL-VIII. Leadership and Vision
a. Identify and apply educational and technologyrelated research, the psychology of learning, and
instructional design principles in guiding the use of
computers and technology in education.
This project was created to take a part of a
standard, to a higher level. I think this was
achieved by having the students create something
for the project. They will utilize different
technology skills in order to complete a finished
product together.

Vita
Utilizing Classworks, I created a poster presentation
that discusses many aspects of the program along
with the needs of the learner based on the program.
I found this project to be very useful when
completing this project. It brought together many of
the assignments from the class and how they all
related to one another. This assignment was not only
targeting the information from the class, but also
gave me a new way to present information to the
public through technology.

Final Presentation
Brief Paper on Aging
This is a photograph of my final presentation for
this class. It was one of the most thought provoking
projects I have done. Using the concepts discussed in
the class, I had to come up with an example of
each using different medias. It was challenging and
fun and was a true reflection of me when all was
said and done. This was a very interesting project.

Introduction
Vita
This paper was written about the concept of
Aging. I think that this Human Development course
helped refresh my memory on all of the different
theories I learned in my undergraduate studies.
This paper was a reflection of the theory of aging
that seems most relevant to me. It describes what it
means to be “old” and how I can cope with the
idea of aging.

About Me
TL-III. Teaching, Learning, and the Curriculum
a. Facilitate technology-enhanced experiences that
address content standards and student technology
standards.
TL-VI. Social, Ethical, Legal, and Human Issues
a. Model and teach legal and ethical practice
related to technology use.
This is one of my favorite assignments. I utilized
technology to enhance the experience of reading
my niece’s Georgia Young Author’s competition
piece. I used PowerPoint, audacity, and the voices
of my niece and nephews to transform her original
story into an eBook. This created a new way for
her to record her own creativity, using the
technology standards as part of the ISTE and
GPS.

This was one of my favorite projects. I chose this
project for this indicator because of the use of
sound in my presentation. The project was
supposed to reflect me and I utilized music from a
site with copyright free music. I incorporated the
music using PowerPoint skills that I learned from Dr.
Baylen’s course and cited the music in the
appropriate manner. I did not use music that had
copyright and photographs that I did not have
permission to use.

Literature Research Paper
Literature Review Map
TL-V. Productivity and Professional Practice
a. Use technology resources to engage in ongoing
professional development and lifelong learning.
TL-I. Technology Operations and Concepts
b. Demonstrate continual growth in technology
knowledge and skills to stay abreast of current
and emerging technologies.
Using technology resources to engage professional
development and lifelong learning is important. I
believe it is these characteristics that make us
great educators. This article review was an
assignment where we chose a concept related to
something we were working on in this degree. We
then researched the concept and reviewed
different articles and how they pertain to our
research. I reviewed an article on the creation of
21st century scholars. I believe we should treat our
students as they are the future. This project helped
me solidify my philosophy of the 21st century
learner.

Introduction
Vita
The Literature Review Map for Research allowed
me to create an organized visual of articles that I
have reviewed regarding the 21st century learner.
I think that this practice has allowed me to really
investigate the strides America and the rest of the
world are going through in order to produce highquality learners.

Issues in Instructional Technology
Wikispaces
The ABC’s of my Ed.S
TL-VII. Procedures, Policies, Planning, and
Budgeting for Technology Environments.
a. Use the school technology facilities and
resources to implement classroom instruction.
TL-VI. Social, Ethical, Legal, and Human Issues
b. Apply technology resources to enable and
empower learners with diverse backgrounds,
characteristics, and abilities.
I created a video of my favorite technology tip for
my peers. I chose Wikispaces because I felt that
Wikis are a great educational tool and I
personally use a wiki for my classroom for student
use. I believe that there is a certain amount of time
that students spend online a t home. My wiki is one
way I try to “steal” these moments so they are
spent on mathematics. This project describes some
of the great uses of Wikispaces. This video shows
how easy it is to archive classroom activities and
instruction into a wiki.
The ABC’s of my Ed.S. is a video that describes
several characteristics that I have gained over the
course of the past few semesters. It shows how my
needs for showing my peers the available
technologies in our school and how to successfully
implement them into the regular classroom. It
describes how I will utilize my learning through the
Ed.S. program to help build a learning experience
for all students, no matter their background or
abilities.

Web Design for Instruction
WebQuest
Curriculum Web
TL-IV. Assessment and Evaluation
a. Apply technology in assessing student learning
of subject matter using a variety of assessment
techniques.
TL-III. Teaching, Learning, and the Curriculum
b. Use technology to support learner-centered
strategies that address the diverse needs of
students.
Creating a WebQuest was very similar to creating
a group project for the classroom. The aspect of
the WebQuest that was different was that it is
utilizing technology for the research and final
project with the use of some paper and pencil
activity. The WebQuest I created allows students
to self assess along the way. The student is able to
fix mistakes and learn from their mistakes. This
WebQuest was designed to help students with
reading and figuring out word problems using
different tools found on the internet.
The need for differentiated instruction is something
that sometimes educators and the education
system takes for granted. The use of technology in
the classroom is more important now than ever. I
think that using technology to help enhance a
lesson is very important. Technology can easily be
adapted to meet the needs of many different
types of learners. I think the Curriculum Web that I
designed in Dr. Bray’s course allows for the diverse
needs of the learner while teaching the same
concept.

Program Evaluation
Evaluation Plan
Evaluation Report
TL-IV. Assessment and Evaluation
b. Use technology resources to collect and analyze
data, interpret results, and communicate findings
to improve instructional practice and maximize
student learning.
TL-VII. Procedures, Policies, Planning, and Budgeting
for Technology Environments.
c. Participate in professional development opportunities
related to management of school facilities, technology
resources, and purchases.
This plan was created for the principal of WinderBarrow Middle School. The client wanted
information on the professional development
components of a county initiative of FeedbackDifferentiation-Assessment. This plan included a
plan to collect data through the use of an online
survey and a subsequent focus group. This initiative
that was being reviewed was implemented to
improve teacher instructional practices and to
maximize student learning.
My report on the evaluation of professional
development in differentiation has allowed me a new
perspective on the concept of professional development.
Throughout this program I have developed several ideas
for professional development workshops. This report,
however, is the first time I have sat down and thought
about it from the administrations perspective.
Administration is held accountable for professional
development and the opportunities must be relevant.
This evaluation showed improvements for differentiation
in professional development.
