Three cycle system






Objective: comperable and compatible degrees (in terms of profiles and
learning outcomes)
Each degree progam should have:
 degree workload (ECTS credits)
 level
 learning outcomes (generic and subject specific),
 competences
 profile
Length of degree programs: Helsinki recommendations
First cycle: 180-240 ECTS
Second cycle: 60-120 ECTS (preferably 90-120)
Third cycle: open - not so well defined as first two
 Linking the EHEA & the ERA
 Pilot project of EUA – looking at optimal structures for joint doctoral
programs promoting European collaboration and mobility
 Doctorate candidates – prepared for a changing labour market
