Timeline
Submit your collection of evidence:
Receive the final evaluation report:
By April 22nd, if non-PTS
By June 1st, if PTS is due to receive a summative evaluation
By June 20th, if PTS is due to receive a formative evaluation
Sign the evaluation report to acknowledge receipt:
By April 20th, or a date established by your evaluator
By June 1st
Have a conference with the evaluator (optional)

Required if the summative rating is “Needs Improvement” or
“Unsatisfactory”

Overview of summative evaluations
What is the purpose?
(1) for you to receive feedback on how you did this year and how
you can continue to grow
(2) for the evaluator to determine a rating on your performance that
determines your educator plan and/or staffing for next year

Exercise #1: Think like an evaluator – assess the goals
Step 1: Take out the handout “Exercise: Goal Attainment”
Step 2: Review the educator’s goal and data.
Step 3: Using the rubric, determine a rating on the educator’s
attainment of goal. Provide a rationale for your rating.
