In spite of the general category of pests such as insects, diseases and weeds, there are many other types including nematodes, arthropods etc. What is IPM Integrated Pest Management, or IPM is a pest management system designed to provide long-term management of pests, not temporary eradication of them. It is the coordinated use of pest and environmental information with available pest control methods to prevent unacceptable levels of pest damage by the most economical means with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment. Why IPM is Important Because pest problems are often symptomatic of ecological imbalances, the goal is to attempt to plan and manage ecosystems to prevent organisms from becoming pests. Objectives of IPM • • • • • To minimise the loss by pests To increase the content of eco-friendly organisms in the environment Involve the farmers in effective implementation of IPM Involve the Govt. and NGOs in effective way Mass media involvement Functions of IPM • • • • • Assist state Govt. in pest surveillance on major crops Supplement state efforts in pest control operations Disseminate Integrated Pest Management concepts Advise appropriate and safe use of pesticides Monitor and forewarn pest and disease situation Activities of CIPMC • Rapid Roving Survey Kharif Rabi •Conservation & augmentation of Bio Agents •Field release of Bio control Agents •Training and demonstration through Farmers Field Schools Activities of CIPMC (a) Compilation of Technical Reports (I) Rapid Roving Survey for various types of crops (II) Weekly Technical Reports (III) Monthly Technical Reports (b) Compilation of Non – Technical Reports (i) Monthly/Quarterly Expenditure Report ( PLAN Budget) (ii) Monthly/Quarterly Target/Achievement Report (PLAN Budget) (iii) Monthly/Quarterly Expenditure Report ( Non - PLAN Budget) (iv) Monthly/Quarterly Target/Achievement Report (Non - PLAN Budget) Technical Physical Target Rapid Roving Survey target Conservation/ Augmentation target Rapid Roving Survey Survey Rapid Roving Survey Report Field release of Bio control agents Survey Field Release of Bio-Agents Conservation & Production of Bioagents FFS Training/Demo Weekly Pest & Disease Report Weekly Technical Report Monthly Technical Report Farmers’ field School Target (crop wise) Monthly Target / Achievement Report Weekly IPM Training Report Non-technical Activities (System Flow Diagram) BUDGET ALLOTMENT FOR THE YEAR PLAN BUDGET Monthly Expenditure Report NON-PLAN BUDGET Monthly Target /Achi- vement Report Quarterly Report Monthly Expediture Report Monthly Target /Achi- vement Report Quarterly Report Goals of DACNET Project Bringing in e-Governance By Development of DACNET portal Implementation of PAYROLL package Implementation of PIS (Personal Information System) Inventory Management System File Monitoring System Library Management System (e-Granthalaya) CIPMC WEBSITE http://www.cg.nic.in/dacnet Model of CIPMC Portal CIPMC Portal Modules of DACNET Web Application.
