The Objective
To increase profitability on APC enclosures, while identifying power and
cooling opportunities in traditional rack opportunities.
APC’s Netshelter enclosures serve as the base building block for a
flexible modular solution for a client’s entire physical infrastructure
including power protection and delivery, cooling and airflow, security
and management, and the integrated InfraStruXure® solution from APC.
This enclosure profitability program works to encourage the solution
sale for client critical physical infrastructure to include the APC
Netshelter enclosures.

NetShelter SX Applications
 Networking Applications
Enclosures for server and networking applications
 Vertical mounting rails can be easily adjusted to make



room for high capacity cable managers.
NetShelter® SX roof has eight cable access slots for
cable exit or can be removed toollessly for supporting
large bundles of cable.
New vertical cable mangers provide capacity and
organization required for patching and switch
applications.
Server Applications
 Integrated and adjustable rear channel provides Zero U
mounting locations for APC rack power distribution or
cable management.
 NetShelter® SX provides superior door ventilation and
scalable cooling options to address escalating heat
densities.
 Vertical cable organizers, cable containment brackets,
and vertical fiber organizers can all be installed
toollessly in the rear of the enclosure and are capable
of supporting cabling for a fully populated enclosure.

Blade Servers
● Specific Concerns
● Clearance needed for hot swappable slide-out modules in back of
blade chassis
● Typically 60-90 data cables per enclosure
● High density power – 4 blade chassis require approx. 16KW of
continuous power
● High density cooling
● Recommendations
● Minimum
• AR3100 (24” wide enclosure) offers space for 4 chassis: some
equipment combinations will interfere with the modules.
• 2 High density PDUs and low profile cable management (AR7710) for up
to 90 Cat6 cables.
● Recommended
• AR3150 (30” wide) provides more space in rear to access modules
• Plenty of room for 2 high density PDUs, cords, and larger cable
management brackets (AR8442) for up to 110 Cat 6 cables.

1U and 2U servers
● Specific Concerns
● Increased depth of newer servers with cable management arms interfering
with PDUs and vertical cable managers
● Data cables per enclosure from 40 up to 120
● Power cords and cable management arms block airflow
● Recommendations
● Minimum
• AR3100 (24” wide x 42” deep enclosure)
• 2 High density PDUs and low profile cable management (AR7710) for
up to 90 Cat6 cables.
● Recommended
• AR3300 (24” wide x 47” deep enclosure)
• Deeper enclosure provides more space in rear to minimize interference
with cable management arms and improve airflow.
• Extra rear channels provide room for high density PDUs and 3 high
density vertical cable organizers (AR8442) for up to 160 Cat 6 cables.
APC by Schneider Electric – Name – Date
Networking
● Specific Concerns
● Vertical cable management high density for data center
switches
● Data cables per enclosure - up to 700
● Side to side cooling
● Recommendations
● Medium Density – 1 switch
• AR3150 (30” wide x 42” deep enclosure) offers space for
vertical cable managers to support up to 480 Cat6 cables
● High Density – 2 switches
• AR3350 (30” wide x 47” deep enclosure) provides more
space in rear to route cables on all four corners of the
enclosure to support up to 960 Cat6 cables
• Leave 2U above and below switch for cooling or use 2 Side
Air Distribution Units

Don’t forget the Power!
●Increase your sales revenue
●Average rack populated today in these applications is
loaded to ~ 4kW/rack.
●In each WATT of load there is approximately $1 of APC
UPS opportunity.
4kW (4000W) = ~$4000 potential APC UPS
opportunity!
