BYSTANDER: ONE THAT IS NEARBY DURING A CONFLICT, PLAYS A PIVOTAL ROLE IN CONFLICT RESOLUTION A BYSTANDER CAN CAUSE A CONFLICT TO ESCALATE or DE-ESCALATE Who is the Victim? Who is the bystander? Who is the aggressor? CAN YOU TELL? Let’s look at the pictures again! Now can you explain using the words we just learned what might be going on? We experience and express conflicts in many different ways. Everyone has conflicts; people are not good or bad because they experience them. Conflict is a normal part of life. The important issue is how we handle conflict. If we resolve our conflicts by fighting, then conflict becomes something negative. If we handle it is a positive way, then conflict can help us learn more about ourselves and others.
