MAHATMA GANDHI AND GOKHALE –
GURU AND DISCIPLE

M.K. Gandhi received G.K. Gokhale at cape town, South
Africa on 22nd October 1912.

Gokhale – A political Guru, made Gandhi feel completely at
home.

He treated him like a younger brother.

Gandhi got all he needed from Gokhale being Guru

To see Gokhale at work was as much a joy as an education.

Gokhale never wasted a minute

His private relations and friendship were all for public good.

Gokhale used to say everyone, “You do the thing yourself.
Let me do my own work”. What I want is freedom for my
country.

There 493 Universities in India

[42 central, 256 state, 60 state private, 130 Deemed - to - be
Universities, 5 institutions established under state legislation]

More than 31,000 colleges in India.

12th five year plan – drafting recommendations are getting ready.

60% of the institutions in India have not come forward for
accreditation by NAAC. – National Assessment and Accreditation
Council


Everyday is a reading day; learning day; working day – Read and read as
much as you can including daily newspapers.

Read IQAC, UGC and IAU - Newsletters regularly

Choose a topic for project reports highlighting GRI Gurukula system with
the help of the Teacher guide allotted to you

Diary writing regularly by all students

Celebrate Teachers Day being 5th September as Gurus day – Birthday of
Dr.S.Radhakrishnan, Philosopher

Meet Gurus regularly – meeting gurus and energizing everyday should be
the basic duty of every student.

Guru is like a light house

No Guru today, No guidance tomorrow

Diamonds shine brightest in a coal mine. Gurus
will shape you like a dimonds.

No Guru; No future.

Following the shadow of a Guru is like following
the shadow of the almighty

Ideal Guru and ideal student are the two sides of
the same coin of the GRI
