• Cross Compliance (CC) was introduced in 2005 as part of the Midterm Review of the CAP (EC Regulation 1782/2003) • Recently further adjusted (EC-Regulation 73 2009) • It makes receipt of the direct payment aid (SFP), conditional on farmers meeting Statutory Management Requirements (SMRs) and Good Agricultural and Environmental Condition (GAEC).
