TAXATION
Our Tax team works closely with our corporate, finance, real estate and project finance lawyers to

ENVIRONMENT
The Firm provides a wide array of environmental legal representation to companies and trade
associations in the Energy, Mining and Mineral processing industry.
• Our representation includes litigation and due diligence, counseling under The Environment
(Protection) Act, 1986, The Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, The Air (Prevention
and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, The Public Liability Insurance Act, 1991, Biological Diversity, 2002

Represented both investor and publicly owned electric utilities in hearings and applications before the
Electricity Board, and in all aspects of, the electricity industry, including distribution, transmission,
generation and retail. Members of the firm also have experience in the Indian electricity retail and
generation market, and have advised clients, including retailers, project developers, investors and
marketers on a diverse range of matters, including development of solar generation projects,

The firm is legal counsel to the Office of the Controller of Certifying Authorities, Ministry of Information
Technology on legal modifications and amendments to the Information Technology Rules and
Procedures. The firm has also advised clients on their applications to be instated as Certifying
Authorities under the Indian Information Technology Act [2000]. In the area of Internet-related crime,
the firm advises NASSCOM, the Government of India and in particular, the Computer Emergency
Response Team [CERT].
