Reflections on past 2 years
Sep 2011: plan to solve “fast-track” issue with API stalls
Jan 2012: significant part of the industry starts to withdraw
experts from ISO/TC67 activities
Mar 2012: request for clarification on regulations to EU &
US authorities by CEN resp. ANSI (N1203, N1199)
Jun 2012: launch of OGP Interim Solution – all work groups
work under OGP umbrella
Aug 2012: answer US authorities received (N1201)
Oct 2012: answer EU authorities received (N1204)
Nov 2012: ISO conclusion that process is safe and not
infringing embargo laws
12
Achievements
OGP Interim solution (June 2012 – June 2013):
• 68 work groups active with 1500+ experts registered
• 18 draft standards published!
• 14 new work items proposed and approved!
• Excellent cooperation with ISO CS
MANY thanks to OGP & ISO and, please help to
convey our appreciation to the experts and ISO CS staff!
ISO/TC67 (see also report of the secretariat N1230):
• 7 standards published in 2012 (target 18)
• 5 documents published in 2013 (YTD); target is 13
– Includes ISO 27509 Corr 1 - thanks to all that helped to get this out
quickly!
13
Current status
• Transition to business-as-usual since June 2013
• Several experts prefer to continue working under
OGP based on standard liaison arrangements: work
groups have to decide.
• Cooperation with API yet to be re-established
– ANSI (API) is still able to adopt ISO standards as US national standards
