Example FUTUR trackside references

• MADRID Suburban Lines – 69 m€ contract awarded in December 2006.

– Invensys Rail: ERTMS level 1 & level 2 and ERTMS-CTC.

– This is a suburban network, with 2min headway in some areas.

– Automatic Train Operation (ATO) in selected areas – Brownfield Project

Example FUTURE Trackside Reference

• Auckland (NZ) network improvement – Project to resignal and implement ETCS L1 throughout this area – Commuter, long distance and freight trains – Brownfield project • Main objectives for Ontrack: – To improve both safety and capacity.

– To update existing technology.

Benefits

• Improved safety – Multiple protection features • Increased capacity – Speed with safety – Optimised control • Competitive supply market – Multiple suppliers – Long term market viability and hence support/enhancements – Lower whole of life support costs Slide 10 © Invensys 00/00/00 Invensys proprietary & confidential

Interoperable but not Identical

• Differences between Offerings in; – Packaging and flexibility – Maintainability – Productivity – Integration with other product lines • E.g with interlockings and control centres – Additional features • E.g Automatic Train Operation Slide 11 © Invensys 00/00/00 Invensys proprietary & confidential

System Components

• FUTUR 1300 – Trackside Subsystem for ETCS Level 1 • FUTUR 2500 – Trackside Subsystem for ETCS Level 2 • FUTUR 3000 – Train Carried Subsystem • FESIM – Virtual Environment for ETCS Simulation and Test • Also includes – Electronic Interlockings e.g WESTRACE or WESTLOCK – Train Management Centre e.g. SystematICS Slide 13 © Invensys 00/00/00 Invensys proprietary & confidential

FUTUR: Trackside Architecture

FUTUR 1300 FUTUR 2500

FUTUR 1300: Lineside Electronic Unit

• The FUTUR LEU can interface to the I/L in two different ways:  Via a vital TCP/IP based serial network ling – From suitable Electronic Interlockins  Via relay based parallel inputs – From relay or other interlockings - 1 LEU Module (LM).

- 1 Balise Output Card (BOC) - 1 Power Supply Unit (PSU) - 1 LEU Module (LM).

- 1 Balise Output Card (BOC) - 1 Discrete Input direct current card (DIDC) - 1 Discrete Input alter current card (DIAC) - 1 Power Supply Unit (PSU) 15

FUTUR 1300: Lineside Electronic Unit

• The FUTUR LEU can interface to the I/L in two different ways:  Via a vital TCP/IP based serial network ling – From suitable Electronic Interlockins  Via relay based parallel inputs – From relay or other interlockings • The CLC is based on the WESTRACE platform in a hot standby configuration.

• The CLC transmits diagnostic and maintenance information to a central maintenance system over the network link 16

Benefits of Networked LEU’s

• Remote maintenance & diagnostic facilities • Reduced cabling – Faster/cheaper design and installation, testing and any subsequent modification • Increased capacity – It allows the interlocking to deliver what are effectively more signal aspects to the train, i.e. showing 4, 5, 6… blocks ahead of the train are clear. – Overlaps can be minimised – Defensive driving techniques not required – Speed with Safety • Advanced Temporary Speed Restriction features Slide 17 © Invensys 00/00/00 Invensys proprietary & confidential

Temporary Speed Restriction Handling

• Variable TSR: e.g. for maintenance or emergency situations   Set up: in real time (while LEU is working)  Centralized, via ERTMS Control Centre  Locally (introduced by maintenance staff directly into the LEU) CTC Activation Centralized ERTMS Control  Serial: from Centralized ERTMS CTC via TCP/IP network link Private signaling network 18

FESIM: FUTUR Environment Simulator

• ERTMS systems require a great amount of testing and validation during the installation and commissioning.

• FESIM provides an environment for: – Design simulation – ERTMS/ETCS track data validation.

– Real ERTMS/ETCS equipment trials and integration, with actual hardware – Other signalling elements, trials and integration: interlockings.

– Training drivers in the ERTMS/ETCS system • Its our “Flight Simulator”

Summary

• ETCS Level 1 is a reality – Proven – Reliable – Deployable – Meeting its design objectives – Available from multiple suppliers • ETCS is the Global Signalling Solution – E = Everyone, not just Europe – The only modern and interoperable ATP/cab signalling system Slide 21 © Invensys 00/00/00 Invensys proprietary & confidential

Summary

• Not all ETCS systems are the same – All Interoperable though – Flexible packaging options – Improved productivity – eg better design and test tools – Synergies with other products eg interlockings and control centres • Who you choose as a supplier still matters – Quality, Capability, Experience and Resources Slide 22 © Invensys 00/00/00 Invensys proprietary & confidential
