Purpose
•
The College/University Athletic Trainers’ Committee serves several
purposes with a focus to support, educate and represent the
College/University Athletic Trainer….
–
To help demonstrate the values and importance of the Athletic Trainer in the overall
health and welfare of the student-athlete
–
To work with the appropriate third parties such as the NCAA and the NCAA Rules
Committee to promote issues of student-athlete safety and well-being, and to
improve work-life balance for our members within our setting
–
To grow the collective knowledge of Athletic Training
–
To ensure our members are kept informed by communicating regularly back to our
members on our actions, and that on the NATA as a whole on their behalf

• ACSM-NCAA Workgroup on S-A with Sickle Cell Trait
• IATF Preventing Sudden Death in Sport
• Aiding AT’s in adopting and interpreting NCAA
legislation
• Inter Association Task force on Preventing sudden
Death in Strength and Conditioning Sessions
• Collaborate closely with CATS on various projects
• Representative on NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory
Group Meeting
• Discuss and offer suggestions to CAATE in regards to
standards
