Accelerate critical projects, reducing completion time by years over the
traditional method

Use new financing and private partnering opportunities to advance
transportation solutions

between tolled and non-tolled lanes

Regional Trade Corridors/Hurricane
Routes:
San Antonio served as a mass
evacuation center (Houston,
New Orleans, Gulf Coast) during
recent hurricane season
Regional corridors – IH 10, IH 37,
and US 281 proved inadequate
for the demand
These are also important regional
trade and statewide connectivity
corridors.

Solutions Today
Since 2003, the Bexar County region has taken advantage of a number of
“new tools” to help accelerate transportation projects in this region:
• Regional Mobility Authorities
• Advanced Transportation District
• Pass Through Financing
• Texas Mobility Fund
• Proposition 14 Bonding Authority
• Federal Earmarks
