•The oldest and largest children’s and family
nonprofit literacy organization in the U.S.
•Operates through a national, grassroots network
of volunteers.
•Highest priority is to serve the nation’s
underserved children and families.
•Develops and delivers literacy programs and
campaigns that motivate youth to read regularly.

weeks of creative literacy
activities.

How Do I Get Involved?
• Tell your Team Leader that
you’re interested in
volunteering.
• Work with your Team
Leader to determine what
you want to do and how
much time you can
volunteer to help with the
challenge.
What Can I Do?
•Help plan and publicize events
•Raise funds or donations
•Be a guest reader or book buddy
•Dress as a costumed character
•Serve refreshments
•Assist with a book distribution
