Activity 4: Realizing exchange of experience between VFU and CUE
Period: January 2014 – June 2014

During the visit 2 lecturers from CUE have to
present the CUE training experience (visit in
“class”, practical training,etc.)

Justification:
- the specificity of the environment where young businessmen entrepreneurial
initiatives are/will be implemented determines the opportunities for introducing new
ideas, approaches, technologies, etc.
- Market oriented thinking requires adaptation of the successful model based on the
realities of the country, where the social experiments is realized.
- trends of EU economic development show the vital importance of SMEs and a lot of
political effort is invested to expand the scope of business ventures in order to
overcome the economic crisis of the recent years.
- Youth unemployment is growing worldwide and any socially responsible society
seeks to attract, train, keep and encourage their young people to develop their
innovation potential

Visit of 10 students and 2 tutors (Lecturers, Professors) from VFU to CUE for 4 days (to
discuss the period and the program of the visit to CUE). This is the final stage of the
realizing exchange of experience between VFU and CUE after using the e-working
platform; joint training, elaborating of joint projects (topics in the area of Digital Crisis
Management); support from CUE: 1 tutor , 1 lecturer and 1 manager
•
Visit of 8 persons (academic and administrative staff) from VFU to CUE for 4 days
(topics: University Entrepreneurship and Digital Crisis Management) (to discuss the
period and the program of the visit to CUE); support from CUE: 1 tutor and 1 manager
Activity 6: Testing the model in real learning environment (3)

2 lecturers from CUE in VFU for master classes

Final conference for the end of the project

Activity 7: Establishing a fund to finance students’ innovative
ideas
The Coventry’s system for funding of students innovative ideas will be updated and
structured in terms of its real applicability in the context of operational cooperation
between VFU and the economic factors providing employment and realization of such
ideas.

ICI - INSTRUMENT FOR COOPERATION WITH
INDUSTRIALISED COUNTRIES
EDUCATION COOPERATION PROGRAM
•
Over 25 000 will receive grant for Joint Master Degrees study which is carried out in
at least two higher education institutions abroad;
•
125 000 schools, vocational training institutions, higher education institutions,
offering education for adults, youth organizations and enterprises will receive
financing for establishing 25 000 Strategic Partnership, with the aim to promote
exchanges and know-how and links with the world of work;
•
3 500 educational institution and enterprises will receive support for creating over 300
Knowledge Alliances and Sector Skills Alliances, to increase employment and to
encourage innovations and entrepreneurship;
•
600 partnerships in the field of sport, including European non-profit activities, will
receive financing.

A Joint Master Degree (JMD) is a high-level integrated international study
program of 60, 90 or 120 ECTS, delivered by an international consortium of
higher education institutions and other educational and/or non-educational
partners with specific expertise.
The award of scholarships to excellent students worldwide for their participation in
one of these programs – 13-20 scholarships up to 4 guest lecturers
The GMD Consortium is composed of the:
Applicant/coordinator, Full partners, Associated partners, (business, public authorities,
research institute and etc. - transfer of skill and knowledge, traineeships and
additional courses etc.)
Signing of JMD Consortium Agreement between all HE institutions from the program
countries prior to application.
Valid Erasmus Charter.
Consortium must be composed by at least 3 universities from 3 different countries
(EU 28+Turkey+Macedonia+EEA+Switzerland
•
Clear common procedures for eligibility for an Erasmus + grant;
•
Detailed coordinated program for JMD;
•
Tools for control of quality;
•
Joint criteria for assessment of students;
•
Clear administrative and financial management of the consortium;
•
Clear criteria for the type and range of the services offered to the students
(language courses, visa issuing assistance etc.);
•
Mandatory health insurance for all students – by insurance company chosen
by the consortium;
•
Agreement for establishment of consortium;
•
Accreditation and joint acknowledgement of diplomas prior to application;

The JMD study period must take place in at least two of the Program Countries
•
Additional study periods can take place in other participating organizations from
Program or Partner countries under the direct supervision of one of the consortium
partner HEIs.

Preparatory year:
•
3 consecutive intakes (1 or 2 years)
•
A minimum of 75 % of JMD scholarships for candidates from Partner Countries.
•
Outcome of the JMG must lead to joint degree or multiple degrees issued by at least
two HEIs from 2 different Program countries
•
At least 20 ECTS (for 60 ECTS study programs) or 30 ECTS (for 90 or 120 ECTS
study programs)

Assessment criteria:
Relevance of the project to the objectives of the program maximum 30 points
(minimum 15)
Quality of the project design and implementation maximum 30 points (minimum 15)

To be considered for funding proposals must score at least 70 points (out of 100)

Online Repository hosted on the Executive Agency website will advertise all the JMDs
with the aim of attracting the best master students world-wide.
The JMD Repository will allow candidate students to choose their JMD and apply for
an Erasmus + scholarship directly to the consortium concerned
Finance
Consortium management :
20 000 euro for the preparatory year and 50 000 euro per each intake of the JMD.
Scholarship
1000 euro/per month (subsistence cost for scholarship holders out of their country of
residence)- up to 24 months.
Participation costs (tuition fees, insurance and any other mandatory cost) – up to
9000 euro per year per scholarship holder from a Partner country, up to 4500 euro per year per scholarship holder from a Program Country.
1000-3000 euro per year for travel cost depending on scholarship holder residency
and distance from the JMD coordinating HEI.
Total grand amount: between 2-3 million euro for 5 years
КA2-Strategic partnerships in the field of higher education
•
OBJECTIVES:
•
To increase the cooperation between universities and the key interested parties
(companies, research organizations, social partners, local/regional authorities, youth
sectors) , to encourage the quality and innovative practices in higher education.
•
Main actions:
• Development, testing and/or implementing of new joint education programs, joint
curriculum, common modules, intensive programs.
• Development of project-based transnational collaboration between enterprises and
students/staff to study real-life cases.
• Use of the potential of the educational resources and personalized learning.
• Integration of different education modes (study by correspondence, module and
distance learning)

•
activities that strengthen the cooperation between organisations witha view to
establishing exchanges of practices;
•
activities that promote the development, testing and/or implementation of innovative
practicesin the field of education, training and youth;
•
activities that facilitatethe recognition andvalidation of knowledge, skills and
competences acquired through formal, non-formal and informal learning;.
•
activities of cooperation between regional authoritiesto promote the development
of education, train-ing and youth systems and their integration in actions of local and
regional development;
•
transnational initiatives fostering entrepreneurial mind-sets and skills, to encourage
active citizenship and entrepreneurship (including social entrepreneurship).

A Strategic Partnership is transnational and involves minimum three
organisations from three different Programme Countries.
All participating organisations must be identified at the time of
applying for a grant.
Duration of partnerships: 2 or 3 years
Where to apply: to the National Agency of the Lead partner country

to create consortium, composed by at least three universities;
•
the latter should propose a joint education product (master programs) and to attract
students from the partner countries and from third countries, non-EU member states;
•
The training of these students is fully funded by the EU - they receive European
scholarship as well as means of transport and daily allowances during the period of
education;
•
Jointly we could develop several projects – each university being the leading entity on
one of the projects and partner organization on the remaining ones;
Our proposal is to discuss the possibility for developing of JMD program upon the
topics of the project

Proposal for participation in Joint Mobility Project and Joint Degree Project within the
framework of the European Commission’s Call for Cooperation in higher education
and training between the European Union and Australia, the European Union
and Japan and the European Union and the Republic of Korea (2013/C 373/10)

In particular, Proposal for participation of Tongmyoung University, Korea,
Varna Free University, Bulgaria and
Coventry University Enterprises Limited, Coventry
