ENP Exam
The ENP Exam is a comprehensive assessment of your knowledge in the 9-1-1 industry.
This ENP Exam is provided by the National Emergency Number Association.
For more information on requirements to take the exam, application, testing dates, testing
fees, and to order an ENP study guide, visit the National NENA Website at http://www.nena.org/?page=ENP
It is strongly suggested that you order the manual before participating in the study group sessions.
There may be reading assigned from that manual.
ENP Study Group Guidelines
The ENP Study Group is designed to prepare participants for taking the National NENA ENP
Exam.
Study group participation does not guarantee successful completion of the exam.
The study group is voluntary and is not a requirement to take the ENP Exam.
Study group participants should only sign up the for the ENP test when he/she feels they are
ready.
ENP Study Group Guidelines
There is NO fee for participation in the study group.
Study group participants are NOT required to be a NENA member.
Study group participation does not mandate that the participant take the next scheduled ENP
Test.
There are no minimum number of participants to hold a study group.

The ENP Study Group is a good way to learn even if you don’t qualify to take the ENP Exam.
Those that have committed to being a participant should make every attempt to attend regular
scheduled meetings.

Study Group Structure
Prior to the study group conference calls, participants will receive a calendar invite with the
link to the web conferencing session details.
Prior to the study group conference call, the student will receive a reading assignment, power
point and list of questions regarding material that will be covered.
As a participant, you will be expected to read the material provided and answer as many
questions as you can before submitting the answers back to the instructor. The instructor will
use this to gather information on the knowledge of each participant allowing the instructor to
concentrate on more critical areas during the study session.
Students should engage with the instructor, asking questions and participating in study group
discussions when possible.
◦ Keep in mind that this is a study group and it is not intended to cover every aspect of the material.

Practice Test
Throughout the study group, you will be provided with several opportunities to test your
knowledge. (online and in person at the APCO/NENA conference in May)
