New Role of Deputy Director – Dr. Marjan Blok

Curriculum, Teacher Development, and Student Support Services
Primary purpose of the job:
First and foremost, the Deputy Director would add value to the school through leadership of
educational initiatives and programming, and provide the Pre-K-12 scope in curriculum
development, alignment and delivery necessary for a “guaranteed and viable curriculum”.
The Deputy Director would work closely with the Director and administrative team to ensure St.
John’s has the capacity to provide and support excellent quality programs (curricular and cocurricular), as well as initiatives to be identified in the strategic plan.
The Deputy Director would be primary school leader in any absence of the Director.
The job will require thorough knowledge of school ethos, curriculum, operations and co-curricular
programming.

Analyze Student Support Services for entire school and initiate

Recruiting, mentoring and evaluating highlyqualified administrators, faculty and staff

Provide analysis and feedback on teaching and learning at St. John’s

Act as representative as needed in local or international communities with or

questionnaires, focus groups and one-to-one meetings
• The Task Force on Strategic Planning included
representatives from across the school (parents, students,
teachers, staff, admin and Board members)
