 Reducing occurrence of pressure ulcers
 Reducing the use of restraints
 Improving pain management

What you should know about AE
 Never before has such a broad group of people come
together to work on nursing home excellence.
 Approximately 45 percent of US nursing homes have
joined the AE campaign.
 Other nursing homes may choose a different path toward
excellence.

How you can become involved?
 Ask if your facility participates in the AE campaign.
– If so, ask how you can be involved.
– If not, suggest that your facility join.
 All CNAs can learn about the goals of AE.
 All CNAs can seek ways to improve the quality of care
provided at the bedside.
