HS Credit Earned Below Grade 9
• Grades and credits for high school courses completed prior to grade 9 must
be factored into the high school cumulative GPA if those courses are to be
used in meeting the requirements for graduation.
• Students have the option to include or not include grades and credits for
middle school courses in the high school GPA for the following courses:
•
Spanish I, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Biology I
• Accepted credits will appear on the high school transcript.
• Students do not have to accept credits in order to enroll in the next
sequential course as long as the grade is B- or higher
• Implications for Academic Honors – 8 credits required for Math, 6-8 in World
Language
• Last year’s video presentation
More information will be sent home in September
Class Rank Calculation
• Only grades and credits earned in grades 9-12 included
• If middle school credits are accepted, they will factor into the
