connectors during connection procedures.

a Fresenius staysafe PD system to use Baxter supplies while in
the hospital.

1. Remove the cap from the
patient’s extension set.

end of the adapter.

the extension set.

Baxter pull tab from
the extension set
sterility protector cap,
pull to remove.

5. Remove the protector cap from
the end of the staysafe luer-lock
adapter.
6. Connect the Baxter extension set
to the adapter. Proceed with the
exchange following facility
procedure.

DISCHARGE INSTRUCTIONS
FOR ALL CONNECTIONS
• The patient should return to his/her
home or clinic with the additional
extension in place. This practice will
allow the patient to return home and
resume dialysis without interruption.
• Instruct the patient to remove any
adaptors added to their extension set at
the beginning of the next exchange or
as directed by the PD clinic nurse.
Choose the type of catheter or transfer set and the type of system utilized.
