Transcript 5-20-15 Wednesday night message

I. The Church is a place to WORSHIP
1. We are to worship God in SPIRIT and in
TRUTH (John 4:23-24)
Matthew 5:24
“ Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy
way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and
then come and offer thy gift.”
2. We are to SING and make melody in our
hearts to the Lord.
EPHESIANS 5:19
“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns
and spiritual songs, singing and making
melody in your heart to the Lord;”
Colossians 3:16
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all
wisdom; teaching and admonishing one
another in psalms and hymns and spiritual
songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the
Lord.”
3. We are to worship by GIVING
II. The church is a place of
INSTRUCTION
1. We are to teach ALL of God’s Word
2 Timothy 3:16
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and
is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
2. We are to make sure God’s Word is being
taught ACCURATELY
2 Timothy 2:15
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a
workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.”
3. We are to BELIEVE God’s Word and put it to
work in our lives.
JAMES 1:22-23
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers
only, deceiving your own selves.For if any be a
hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like
unto a man beholding his natural face in a
glass:”
III. The Church is a place to meet and
FELLOWSHIP
1. We desire to MEET together and fellowship
(Hebrews 10:25)
2. We gather together to be ENCOURAGED.
IV. The Church is a place for
EVANGELISM
1. We evangelize at HOME and ABROAD
ACTS 1:8
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy
Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be
witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in
all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the
uttermost part of the earth.”
2. We should always be ready to share the
GOSPEL.
1 Peter 3:15
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and
be ready always to give an answer to every
man that asketh you a reason of the hope
that is in you with meekness and fear:”
