What Choices Have To Be
Made?
Choose
a World Language: French,
Latin, Spanish or Beginning
Mandarin.
Choose a Music: Band, Chorus,
Orchestra, or General Music
Math Classes
There
are 2 math courses: Accelerated
Math 6 and Math 6
Grade
5 teacher’s recommendation can
be found on your child’s Aspen student
portal.
Math
There is no tracking
Students can change
levels in later
years
All students can progress to all
higher level math courses in middle
school and high school
Math Placement Review Form
If
you choose a course that is different
from the recommendation, you MUST
speak with your child’s teacher and
complete a placement review form
Forms are available at DMS guidance
office.
Placement Review forms are due to DMS
by April 30, 2015.

How Does The Schedule Work?
We are on a 14 day rotating schedule
We have 5 blocks a day
We have 7 Periods of classes that rotate
It’s really easy…for the kids
Teachers help students until everyone is
familiar with the building and the schedule
