What Choices Have To Be
Made?
Choose
a World Language: French,
Latin, Spanish or Beginning
Mandarin.
Choose a Music: Band, Chorus,
Orchestra, or General Music
Math Classes
There
are 2 math courses: Accelerated
Math 6 and Math 6
Grade
5 teacher’s recommendation can
be found on your child’s Aspen student
portal.
Math
There is no tracking
Students can change
levels in later
years
All students can progress to all
higher level math courses in middle
school and high school
Math Placement Review Form
If
you choose a course that is different
from the recommendation, you MUST
speak with your child’s teacher and
complete a placement review form
Forms are available at DMS guidance
office.
Placement Review forms are due to DMS
by April 30, 2015.

How Does The Schedule Work?
We are on a 14 day rotating schedule
We have 5 blocks a day
We have 7 Periods of classes that rotate
It’s really easy…for the kids
Teachers help students until everyone is
familiar with the building and the schedule
