66% population depends on agriculture and AH.
They contribute 28 % to SDP at current prices.
However, agriculture in the State is primarily rainfed ( 70
Rajasthan has 10.5% area of the country
Supports 5.5% of human population
10% of cattle
Only 1 % water resources of the country
Water share for irrigation : 83%

Mode of implementation




State horticulture Mission's programmes being
implemented through a registered society “Rajasthan
Horticulture Development Society” at the state level and
and its district Horticulture Development Societies
registered under socities registration act
The Horticulture Development Societies at state as well
as district level has already been registered
Overall supervision and monitoring by the Director of
Horticulture as State Mission Director
At State Level the different programme/ activities of
NHM is being carried out by the officers of planning cell
through concerned scheme in charges
Mode of implementation


At the district level, the District Mission Committee
(DMC) is responsible for overall implementation of NHM
programmes constituted under the Chairmanship of
District Collector
The mission programmes would be implemented
preferably in identified villages of selected
districts based on agro climatic situations. For
this, five to ten villages in cluster have been
selected in potential district of the State. In these
selected villages, selected horticulture crops
being promoted in such a manner so that the
demonstration effect could be visualized
