RISK MANAGEMENT:
does not avoid risk but helps the organisation to be prepared
minimizing adverse outcomes and ensure opportunities are recognized and seized up

HAZARD: unsafe condition (hole in the floor), environmental threat (excessive VOC
emissions) or security concern (unauthorized access)
HAZARD BASED RISK: combination of probability that the hazard will affect someone or
something and the seriousness of the consequences.

COLLECTION OF RISKS RELATED TO
NEW (UN)LOADING SITES: TEMPLATES
• First visit to a new (un)loading site or changed site
• Template reflects findings and facts, noted for instance by HSEQ
manager or master driver
• Allows transmission of data on the (un)loading site to next drivers and
improves preparation and risk mitigation
• Three templates were drafted: liquid bulk / dry bulk / packed goods
• Way forward: PROPOSAL
ECTA RC Plan 2010: ECTA and Cefic to further elaborate the templates
and start implementing them
