APN Generic Homework Info
Deadlines for handing in work must be abided
by. Feedback is essential to succeed.
Better to hand in poor work than miss the
deadline.
Otherwise…. referrals, letters home and
ultimately exam withdrawal.
Getting behind will make it harder for you to pass
and this course is hard enough!
Graded (A,B,C,D,E,L,U): used for predicted
grades by exam boards. (GCSE out of 10).
Grades used for reports and UCAS references.
APN Generic Homework Info
Late work must still be handed in
If you fall behind with work, ensure any
subsequent pieces are in on time.
If Ill, get notes and immediately find out
next week’s homework
On return of homework, study any hints
and finish it off for peace of mind.
APN Generic Homework Info
Homework can be painful, but you learn
from your mistakes.
Beware of the time spent on coursework
from other subjects.
AS/A level Homework
 Format: Name, Date, Exercise,
Page Number, Group, use A4.
 Underline answers twice.
 Staples are your best friend (put one in
top left: one per homework).
 No red ink.
 Plastic receptacles are a health hazard.
 Advice: Use large diagrams.
AS/A level Homework
 Don't hand in extra questions or notes.
 Check answers in the back after each
question.
 Attempt every question.
 Advice: Spread your work out and start at
the top of a clean sheet for a hard question.
 Hand in your solutions in the same order
as those set.
AS/A level Homework
 If correct, mark with a TICK  (not in red ink).
 If wrong, mark with a large ? (not in red ink).
State what the answer says in the back of the
book. Add a line of English explaining your
problem.
 Don't tick work that you haven't checked or got
wrong.
And finally …
 Summary on last sheet (unless
assignment). List question numbers you
got wrong or could not do.
You may use a smiley face if you feel you
have completely understood ()
Timetable homework in diaries and start it
the same day.
 Sort out problems BEFORE handing in.
