ABE/GED classes
If you are new to ABE/GED classes you must take a TABE
placement test. Call Adult Education Testing: 847-543-2445

New GED Test
New test begins in January 2014.
You must have all your tests completed by early
December 2013 or you will need to start all over
again with the new test in 2014.
Please note:
Last time the GED tests changed,
appointments booked very quickly the last
six months.
Many people were unable to complete their
GEDs because testing appointments were
booked.

Fall Health Care Bridge Classes(HCB)
For students who are considering a health care
profession and need to work on language and math
proficiency.
Program Entry Requirements:
ABE/GED students must have a 7.5 on the TABE
ESL students must have a 55 on the CELSA exam.
(ESL students will still need to take a TABE exam.)

Steps to Transitioning to Credit Classes
Things you can do now:
Work hard in class, stay focused and don’t let life get
in the way of your educational and career goals!
Create a CLC log in and student email account.
Check your CLC email account regularly. Teachers,
financial aid, the library, and admissions all use the
CLC email system to send you information!
Explore career options by attending information

Steps to Transitioning to Credit Classes
Once you have your GED:
Take a copy of your GED results to admissions ASAP.
Register for a New Student Orientation online at
http://www.clcillinois.edu/nso/
See an academic advisor to discuss your career
choice.
Apply for Financial Aid.
Remember to attend the May GED graduation
ceremony!
Financial Aid and Scholarships
You must have a GED or high school diploma to
apply for financial aid. Do not delay in applying for
financial aid once you have your GED!
Last year Adult Education GED students were
awarded $9,000 in scholarship monies through the
CLC Foundation.
Priority is given to students who are entering transition

Foundation Scholarship application.
