Choosing a SL Position • Are there specific issues or populations with which you would like to serve • Does your schedule fit with the available days/times & duration of service commitment listed for the position? • Do you have or need transportation? • What skills, interests, and abilities do you bring to this experience? SL Assignments Your instructor will define your service requirements and opportunities. Make sure to read your syllabus and ask questions so you are clear about what is expected of you. The Service-Learning Contract Fill out your Course Learning Objectives before you attend your onsite orientation. The Service-Learning Contract Bring your ServiceLearning Contract to your on-site orientation. Fill it out with your site supervisor. You will turn this into your professor. Recording Your Service Hours Have your site supervisor sign for your hours. You will turn your Quarterly Record of Service Hours into your professor at the end of the quarter. TIPS FOR SUCCESS-- Be Respectful – Remember you are representing SCC Challenge Yourself Be clear about your expectations and learning objectives.
