 SIS application releases, updates, patches,
etc. - applied by vendor for all districts at
same time
 Routine maintenance downtime windows as
needed
– Wednesday evenings
– Saturdays (all day)
– Application releases/updates, etc. applied
during these times
 Any other downtimes – will be notified

SSMS General: Annual Cost Billing Process 2014-15
 Annual cost based on funded ADM counts (K-12 only)
 July - DOE will provide official ADM counts to districts
and vendors
 On/after August 1 – vendor will invoice district for
district share of annual cost
– Vendor will send TDOE copy of district invoices
 On/after September 1 - vendor will invoice TDOE for
state share of annual cost ($2.55/ADM) for respective
districts

IMPORTANT DATES: Star_Student
 June 30, 2014 - TDOE contract with Pearson
(Star_Student) ends
 August 1, 2014 - Support for Star_Student
ends
 November 1, 2014 - All historical data must
be pulled for data conversion
 Mid – Late November 2014 – cut-off for
“live” access to Star to complete state Report
Card reporting process
 November 30, 2014 – all district user
access to Star_Student will be terminated

 Initial data conversion – testing/mapping your data to
their SIS application

– All five vendors required to test/validate generation of EIS
extracts

 TDOE platform team beginning EIS test validation

 All five vendors working on the overall TDOE Ed-Fi
platform
– Eventually, most if not all TDOE applications, data warehouse,
dashboards, etc., will flow through the Ed-Fi Operational Data
Store (ODS)
