CURIOUS
What does it mean to
be curious?
What are the
benefits of being
curious?
Our new school building at
Victoria Road in Harpenden
– can you think of
something you are curious
about?
How can we find out more
about our new school
building to answer these
questions?
• Visit the site (Friday Family Group trips or with
your parents)
• Ask one of our new school reps:
- Matty (Reception)
- Georgia (Year 1)
- Ollie (Years 2,3,4)
• Follow the blog via our website:

Old and new coming together
I was very curious to find
out about what the old part
of the site used to be like as
it was a school in Victorian
times. I found the following
pictures….
A small selection of images of
Harpenden from Victorian
times
Most of the photographs were taken
by Frederick Thurston, who had
studios in Luton and Harpenden
Harpenden Free School in
Victorian days
• The Victoria Road building has stood on
this site since 1896: originally a school, it
was later converted into a public library
• In 2013, the library will move to the High
Street, and the building will revert to its
original use, as a school
Victorian schoolchildren
