The Collective Unconscious Jung believed that

“Psychological Inheritance” in that it contains
all of the knowledge and experience we share
as a species.

Carl Jung’s major theory and contribution were
the Archetypes, a Set of generic personalities to
which we are all subscribed to.
There are Four main archetypes outlined in his
theories.
Represents the combination of the unconsciousness and the consciousness of a
person, the self comes about by a process known as individuation where
various types of personalities are integrated into the self.
Represents the instincts and natural desires of the body and is the darker side of
the psyche containing repressed ideas, weaknesses, desires etc.
Representations of the male/female image of the psyche they represent our true
self and act as the primary source of communication with the collective
unconscious.
Represents how we present ourselves to others in the ways we act, it works as a
shield for the ego from negative responses and allows us to hide our Shadow
from others by making them perceive a different view of us.
