 Answer the following questions based on vocabulary word usage.
• Best Cheap Summer Vacations
Due to the economy's fickle nature, destinations that were bargains last year
may not be so now. Regardless, here are some great places you can visit this
summer without breaking the bank.
Myrtle Beach:
• Why go: Summertime is the most popular—and most expensive—time to
visit Myrtle Beach. But you can save considerable money if you find a place
stay off the main stretch of sand. Ditch the Grand Strand area in favor of a
campsite. The stretches of clean public beach (free and fun) and the large
number of family-friendly attractions will make the bargain-hunting worth
it.
 What is the author trying to point about Myrtle Beach? Pick two words in
the description of “Why go” that showed you that point and explain how
they showed this to you.

when in London for the Olympics. She accidentally sent her plans out
to her 380,000 followers, telling everyone that she was going clubbing.

in solidarity and used the, "Uh, I just won two gold medals" excuse
with her parents. Instead, she quickly deleted the tweet and said she

A research report was completed. At the ______ of the report, it was found that nine out
of 10 Miami restaurant workers do not have access to paid sick days and nearly 50 percent
of these workers have gone to work sick. These were among the key findings in a report
released Wednesday by the Restaurant Opportunities Center of Miami and the MiamiDade Coalition for Healthy Families and Workplaces. This report served to _________
claims that workers aren’t being taken care of by employers. Employees who came to
work sick cited fear of retribution, feeling uncomfortable asking for time off and the lack
of any system to find someone to replace them. It appears their bosses’ demands are
_________. But at the same time they are posing a public safety risk, cooking and serving
food while sick.
The study was based on a survey of 200 restaurant workers in Miami. The Miami
restaurant industry employs 72,700 workers and is the third largest industry in the MiamiDade region. Only 8.8 percent of employees surveyed received full or partial health
insurance coverage. The release of the report is part of an effort by Restaurant
Opportunities Center to urge employers to provide health insurance and paid sick days for
its workers. Miami-Dade County Commissioner Barbara Jordan attended the press
conference and spoke about the need to pass county-wide legislation to require paid sick
days. When she was asked when this would begin, she began to __________ , talking
about other bills that needed to pass. With this in mind, it would be nice if the
government was more ______ and provided funding for such through donations.

Family Building Blocks is hosting its Riverfront Family Fest at Salem’s
Riverfront Park on Saturday so families can learn and be entertained together and
outdoors for free. “The big draw is having 1,500 parents and children come down
and have fun on the riverfront. Parents rejoice in their children, being outdoors in
the sunshine and having fun together,” said Sue Miller, FBB’s executive director.
“Everything is free, food and entertainment. We want all families to be able to
participate in this.” Family Building Blocks is an early childhood program for
families with children age 5 and younger. This is the third year the agency has
hosted Family Fest. There will be dancing, music, stories, crafts, face painting,
treats, helicopter landings and fire truck displays. In addition , the event will offer
parents and caregivers information on helmet safety, health and hygiene, nutrition,
animal safety, fire safety, and sun safety. “People want to support families with
young children. We all live in this community together,” Miller said. The event
also will help foster each child’s excitement for reading. “Literature is a big focus.

Life in the oceans is at imminent risk of the worst spate of extinctions in
millions of years due to threats such as climate change and over-fishing, a
study showed on Tuesday. Time was running short to counter hazards such
as a collapse of coral reefs or a spread of low-oxygen "dead zones,"
according to the study led by the International Programme on the State of
the Ocean (IPSO). "We now face losing marine species and entire marine
ecosystems, such as coral reefs, within a single generation," according to the
study by 27 experts to be presented to the United Nations. "Unless action is
taken now, the consequences of our activities are at a high risk of causing,
through the combined effects of climate change, over-exploitation, pollution
and habitat loss, the next globally significant extinction event in the ocean,"
it said.

Prosecutors in Summit County, Oh., have filed an aggravated murder charge against
a man accused of acting ________ by fatally shooting his wife as she lay in a
hospital bed. The charges came after the results of an autopsy performed on
Barbara Wise, 65, who died Sunday following Saturday’s alleged shooting. John
Wise, 66, was initially charged with attempted aggravated murder. While his wife
lay incapacitated at Akron General Medical Center’s Intensive Care Unit, Wise
allegedly entered the hospital through the main entrance, keeping a handgun
concealed. Police say no one else was in the room when Wise allegedly fired the
shot into his wife’s head. He surrendered to security without a struggle immediately
after, saying her suffering with her disease had not been _________.
The couple were married for 45 years. Wise’s attorney, Paul Adamson, says his
client acted out of love. “Forty-five years of marriage, blessed to be deeply in love
with his wife throughout those 45 years, always being happy and _____ with each
other. I am absolutely confident that everything that he’s ever done for his wife has
been done out of deep love, including the events that just recently transpired,” said
Adamson in court Wednesday. In his first court appearance on Tuesday, Wise
appeared confused about the initial attempted murder charge, asking the judge, “Is
she not dead?” Clearly, his choice that day was not __________.

Brazilian journalists who flew to London for the Champions League final were
struck by the importance given in the English press to the recent scandals
surrounding FIFA. They thought all of the attention was a waste, and the story
is not playing anything like as big back home. European cynics might argue that
this has something to do with a certain South American tolerance of _____
customs. South American cynics, meanwhile, put the whole frenzy down to an
infantile English reaction at not being awarded the 2018 World Cup. But the
fault line goes deeper. A few months ago in Rio, Uruguay coach Oscar
Washington Tabarez gave a lecture to Brazilian coaches. Tabarez is not
considered a ________ in the world of soccer; instead an academic, a teacher
by trade (nicknamed "El Maestro" for this very reason), and he could not resist
some historical context. He stopped off briefly at the 1966 World Cup, held in
England while FIFA was presided by an Englishman, Stanley Rous. That
tournament, he said, had been a _____ conspiracy against the South American
teams. Tabarez is certainly no demagogue, no flaming-eyed nationalist. But he
believes that the tournament was set up to exclude the South Americans.

Charlotte Sheffield joined nearly three dozen other former Miss USAs on June 18
to celebrate the contest’s 60th anniversary. The pageant, now owned by Donald
Trump and known what some say are _______ swimsuits that are racier than
previous, has kept the focus firmly on the beauty part of pageantry since its
inception in Long Beach, California in 1952. The Miss America contest, on the
other hand, prides itself on its talent competition—an element missing from the
Miss USA because it was considered ______ to beauty. Meanwhile, the other
“formers,” as they’re called, who range in age from their 70’s to their 20’s, talked
about old pageant scandals and discussed the _______ and unique pressures of
being considered outrageously beautiful–and then having to live up to the title
decades later. Others feel they still have to prove that they have brains too, while
some wonder whether they’ve been courted for themselves or because men
want the bragging rights that come with dating a former Miss USA. All admit that
the good fortune they experienced afterwards left them anything but ______.
Ironically, there’s the other thing mentioned that these women have in common
