About Physical Exercises
• Demanding, challenging but play it safe
• Engaging, creative such as dancing with music
• Research has shown that activities that are
engaging and creative enhance nerve
connections
• Since I don’t do enough, I am a moving target
at home
• Sports

Rapid progress in research = hope
• Yeast offers clues to Parkinson's disease
• Critical 'traffic engineer' of the nervous
system found
• Researchers have identified a critical enzyme
that keeps traffic flowing in the right direction
in the nervous system-a feat that could pave
the way for new treatments for conditions
such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disea

Rapid progress
• Research Targets Protection of Nerve Cells in
Parkinson's
Scientists at John Hopkins have demonstrated on
mice that certain drugs protect nerve cells from
the deadly effects of Parkinson's disease.
• Breakthrough In Cure For Parkinson's Disease
Johns Hopkins researchers have just discovered
two drugs that work to prevent Parkinson's
disease in mice that were genetically engineered
to carry the disease.
