ATS Certification
What is certification?
Certification is an inspection performed on a critical network element installation to ensure
that AT&T installation and turn up practices and guidelines are followed by the Installation
Vendor.
Who does the certification?
ATS Field personnel in the Transport Layer 1-3, Synchronization and Power groups perform
certification on critical platforms that they support.
When is certification done?
Certification is generally performed during the test and turn up phase of the installation
process. Dates are established with the Installation Vendor to meet on site in order to capture
any defects that may be corrected immediately so ready for service dates are not
jeopardized.
What do we do with the results?
Certification findings are entered into the AT&T Remedy database in order to track installation
defects by vendor and equipment. Results are shared with Engineering and the Vendor in
order to help eliminate similar errors on subsequent installations.
