Skillstreaming (Social Skills)
Social Skills are the skills we use when we deal with
other people.
Good social skills help us get what we want:
maximizing the positive response and minimizing the
negative response from other people.
Dealing with an Accusation-Definition
Responding appropriately to someone when they
accuse you of something, even if you did not do
what you were accused of.
Dealing with an Accusation
1. Think about what the other person has accused you
of.
2. Think about why the other person might have
accused you.
3. Think about ways to answer the person’s
accusations.
4. Choose the best way to do it.
Self Evaluation
Self evaluation is a way for you to:
1. Judge for yourself how well you handled a conflict
2. Reward yourself for handling it well (self-rewarding)
3. Help yourself find out how you could have handled
it better (self coaching)
Examples-Self Rewarding Statements
