The group’s preferences for dates & times (indicate days
when you are not able to interview), last possible date to
arrive at SUNY campus in the US

under ‘Current Students’

Important Points to consider while filling out this
document:

The contact information you provide is where your visa
interview details will be sent. Be sure to list a valid phone
number and email address that you check regularly.

What to Take to Your Interview
Print out of Electronically completed visa application
form DS 160
 Original I-20 form, Passport & Kimlik
 Visa application fee receipt ($160 paid to AK Bank)
 Most recent transcript (in a sealed envelope)
 Original financial and/or bank statements (same as the
statements that were provided to the SUNY campus
for I-20 issuance).
 Recommended documents from Group Visa Interview

* Your passport must be valid for at least six months
after your planned entry date into the United States



It is important to FULLY and CORRECTLY
complete the DS-160




Incomplete or incorrect forms will not be accepted
Applicants will not be able to interview until a correct
form has been re-submitted
Consistently poor completion may result in
potential disciplinary measures
Incorrectly completed forms may also result in
permanent ineligibility for a visa

IMPORTANT:
IF THE CHOSEN
SELECTION IS WRONG, THE
INFORMATION IN THE DS160 WILL BE SENT TO A
DIFFERENT DATABASE AND
THE CONSULATE WILL NOT
RECEIVE YOUR
APPLICATION.
Photo Requirements: be sure to
follow guidelines, which are linked
from the photo upload page.

If the photo meets the quality standards, you can
press “Continue Using This Photo”
If the photo does not pass, you will have to provide
another photo that meet the standards.
If you are attending a group visa interview, you
MUST provide a photo. Applications without a photo
will not be accepted.

sitting, you can save the
application
To retrieve your application click
“Retrieve Application” and follow
the prompts. You will need to enter:
Your application ID
First 5 letters of Surname
Year of Birth
Answer to Security Question

Tips for Completing the DS 160





Complete all questions carefully and accurately and IN
ENGLISH
Inserting wrong information or leaving required items
blank will only delay the application process
If a question does not apply to you, you must check the
‘Does Not Apply’ box
Be especially careful with the yes/no questions near the
end, as misrepresenting the facts can make you ineligible
to receive a visa ever.
Save and review your work at the end. Check carefully
that everything is correct before clicking ‘submit’ –it’s
impossible to make changes once the application has
been submitted.
