Process Overview
 MON, 18 JAN – Meeting IGWC, CoGTA SMS and Deployees, Sectors, Provinces
– common understanding of LG TAS Implementation, selection of municipalities,
etc
 TUES TO FRI, 19 Jan to 22 Jan – Preparatory Work, Information, Took-kits,
communication, CoGTA officials deployed to support provinces with preparations,
e-mail discussions by provincial teams to confirm central challenges of selected
LM, Multi-stakeholder mobilization, Confirmation and formation of Provincial
Teams

MON TO FRI, 26 JAN TO 5 FEB – Support to minimum of two (2) municipalities
in each province . One must be in the B3/B4 category, a rural municipality. Draft
strategies and key levers to be part of the Plan and IDP
 TUES/WED – 9/10 FEB – National session with provincial teams and others to
sharpen mythology
 30 Mar – Draft IDPs and Budgets ready
 April – IDP Analysis
 Quarterly meetings at provincial level to track implementation

KEY MESSAGES
1. All municipalities should already be developing their MTAS,
under coordination of provinces;
2. CoGTA is trying to give additional guidance – MTAS
guidelines, briefing, etc;
3. Focus support on vulnerable municipalities (in agreement
with provinces and municipalities);
4. Phase 2 (review and learn); and
5. Learn from good practices
