Pump
Boiler
Turbine
Condenser
 Boiler
 Recover the heat from combustion and generates steam
at requires pressure and temperature
 Turbine
 Drive the generator for the production of electricity
 Condenser
 Convert back to water for reuses boiler feedwater
 Release the heat to the atmosphere
 Pump
 Fluid is pumped from low to high pressure
Uses of steam plant
Specific to biomass :
1.
Direct use - provide heat and/or steam for cooking,
space heating, and industrial processes.
2. Indirect use - electricity or bio power.
Advantages Biomass Plant
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Always available and can be produced as a renewable
resource.
Adds value to agricultural crop.
Reduce landfill disposal and makes more space for
everything else.
Carbon Dioxide is taken by the plants.
Less costs.
Water system
Waste Water Treatment:
I. Physical Unit Operation
II. Chemical Unit Operation
III. Biological Unit Operation
Three common types of water treatment in chemical
plant:
Dissolved Air flotation (DAF)
II. Induced Gas flotation (IGF)
III. Froth Flotation
