As an employer you must provide a safe and healthy workplace for your workers and
contractors. This includes: (selected sections only!)

Provide and maintain safe plant and safe systems of work
implementing arrangements for the safe use, handling, storage and transport of chemicals
maintaining the workplace in a safe condition
making sure workers have adequate information, instruction, training and supervision to
work in a safe and healthy manner.
You have additional specific obligations if your business involves the:

manufacture, importation, transportation, supply, storage, handling or use of dangerous
goods

Training: What does the law require?
•
The Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 requires employers to provide such training to
employees as is necessary to enable the employees to perform their work in a manner that
is safe and without risks to health.
