NTP – a national initiative
ECTP links all NTP’s but they have freedom for structure,
areas of activities, programs, etc.
There are only three main conditions for NTP’s working:
 industry leadership
 input and output for ECTP deliverables (Vision, SRA)
 national representations (involvement of all stakeholders)
Steps in launching NTP
1. Choosing the leader of the NTP and its initiative group.
2. Definition of the goals of the NTP: generally NTP is responsible
for the creation the construction development strategy.
3. Definition of the structure of NTP’s.
4. Definition of the membership of the different bodies (High
Level Group – HLG, Support/Management Group – SG/MG,
Focus Areas – FAs and other groups).
5. Definition and approval of the FA’s as well as choosing its
leaders: actually there are 7 FA’s in ECTP (Underground
construction, Cities and Buildings, Quality of Life, Materials,
Networks, Cultural Heritage, Processes and ICTs).
6. Choosing the member of the NTP to represent its interests in
ECTP
