Bali workshop June 2009
 Goals:
 Identify MSC units of certification for the swimming crab,
snapper/grouper, tuna, and mollusk fisheries in Indonesia,
Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam;
 Prioritize which of these fisheries should complete an MSC
pre-assessment;
 Understand how to effectively and efficiently conduct preassessments at a large scale while addressing the dispersed
geography of fisheries in Southeast Asia; and
 Develop a shared understanding about the value of strategic
fishery assessments against the MSC standard as a tool for
making progress on ecosystem based fisheries management in
Southeast Asia.
